Chief Minister of Punjab Prize Distribution Ceremony  was held at alma iqbal awan lahore,   Prize distribution ceremonies to honour students who excelled in SSC and HSSC, the Punjab Chief Minister Competitions were held across the province on 30 November 2016.   According to the Punjab government , the CM had directed officials to ensure the maximum involvement of students in co-curricular activities to polish their personalities.

After weeks of intense speculation and rumours, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has finalised the selection of two senior army officers as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC), reported DawnNews. A career infantry officer belonging to the Baloch Regiment, Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has been appointed as the new COAS, while Lt Gen Zubair Hayat has been appointed the CJCSC. Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lt Gen Zubair Hayat will be promoted to the rank of four-star generals. Both generals would take up their new posts from Tuesday, the day the current army chief Raheel Sharif retires. Others in contention for the post of army chief were Bahawalpur Corps Commander Lt Gen Javed Iqbal Ramday and Multan Corps Commander Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem. At least two Pakistan Army soldiers were killed as Indian troops fired across the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday. The Pakistani military confirmed the deaths of its soldiers yet dismissed the Indian claim of 'surgical strikes'. "There had been cross border fire initiated and conducted by India which is [an] existential phenomenon," said an ISPR statement released shortly after the Indian Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) held a press conference making claims about surgical strikes.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif on Thursday termed India's ' surgical strike ' a 'drama'. "If Pakistan were to conduct a surgical strike, it would become a chapter in Indian textbooks," the army chief said. The army chief, addressing members of a tribal jirga in Khyber Agency's Bara tehsil said the Pakistan Army is "the strongest force against terrorism ". "They have eliminated terrorism from Pakistan's tribal areas," he said. "I kept the morale of Pakistan Army up in my time, but I will hand over the reigns to the next chief on Nov 29," he told members of the jirga. "We have fought the menace of terrorism together over the years," the army chief said. "It has woven us eternally in an unbreakable bond."
