Turkey dismisses more than 2,000 police officers over coup bid

ISTANBUL: Turkey issued two decrees under emergency rule on Wednesday in which it dismissed more than 2,000 police officers and hundreds of members of the military and the BTK communication technology authority over last month's attempted military coup. The decrees, published in the country's Official Gazette, also included a decision to close the TIB telecoms authority and another decision under which the president will appoint the head of the armed forces. Objectionable advertisements are also not permissible under Pemra rules,” the authority said in the reply. Justice Syed Ma
